3 ways to wear a nice black skirt!

Hello guys!

I've designed three different looks with a key player - Mango black skirt. All three represent different styles and can be suitable for people having various tastes.  So enjoy the combinations, pick up your favourites and comment on them starting a discussion what you like and don't like, what you would change or not!

1. First look is a classic one - white and black mix. It is ideal for working days - formal and at the same time stylish (especially the fur gilet). It may also be suitable as a casual look, so it is up to you. This combination is very comfortable for warm fall or even for winter if you have a car and don't want to wear a heavy coat.

2. The second look is more rocky with a leather jacket and corresponding boots. Here watch accessory plays a crucial role for the completeness of the look.  

3. And the last one is a three-colour combination - red, white and black. Looks pretty good! It is also for mild autumn for dry and sunny days.

Profile face

To learn drawing means practicing, practicing and practicing again.

 Now I'm learning to draw woman faces from the profile. In order to strengthen my learned skills I keep practicing to draw as many profile faces as I can. The same I would suggest to all fashion illustration learners. First of all learn the basic proportions of a face, draw with a pencil. When you are confident, you can use a gel pan to adjust the outline and then paint your drawing. Here are some of my drawings made during my learning process.

What to wear in autumn

I have composed two warm looks from the clothes by H&M and Next collections.  

Both sets are casual, for everyday life composed with autumn colours - red, orange, all tones of brown and basic.

Lesson 1 - Shape of woman face

Many illustrators skip sketching faces of models on illustrations, just giving them shape. It belongs to the own style of fashion illustrator. I personally find that my illustrations look unfinished when I don't draw the eyes, lips and nose. For example, my this sketch seems very "poor" without details of the face, isn't it?

Regardless of your drawing style, model's shape of the face is very important for the completeness of the illustration. So, I've selected several common shapes of woman faces and whatever you use will describe the nature of your model. You will definitely choose the most delicate shapes, but consider that more rough ones can give the model specific characteristics. Especially I use square or rectangle shape when I draw rock or punk style models. So let's first learn the basic shapes from my sketches:

If you draw a certain person, the shape of the face is very important in order to make the person recognizable. So just try to look around you, recognize the peoples face shapes and try to sketch just the shape. I draw first a circle then I shape the face, as presented below:

Here I suggest you to explore several interesting shapes of famous people and try to draw their faces identical to them. For experiments, just try to change the height or length of the face and you will see significant modifications.

Learning to draw fashion illustration

Hello all lovers of fashion illustration,

I'd like to share my experience in learning to sketch fashion illustrations, give you some tips and advises how to start or improve drawing techniques. 

Let me first tell you briefly my story. I started to sketch from my childhood: it was my passion, favourite activity to draw models with fancy dresses and then sewing or knitting the dresses for my barbies. When I was already at school, my whole time was spent on learning and doing homework, which developed an opinion in me that drawing is just a hobby for leisure. After many years, when I've already got degree from university I've just found that fashion illustration is an existing profession, it is an essential part of fashion industry. And then I've just returned to the passion of my childhood and started to draw again.

From the first look, fashion illustration seems very easy, but it requires a good technique. Besides, everyone can learn technique and sketch models, but it is important to develop own unique style which is not easy. So before be able to develop own style of illustration, it is necessary to learn drawing techniques.
